Commonly used sprocket gear processing method
Commonly used ISO Sprocket Gear processing method
Forming method
This method of milling is a forming method. When milling, the workpiece is mounted on the indexing head of the milling machine, and the gear teeth are milled with a certain number of disc-shaped (or finger) milling cutters. After machining one tooth, perform indexing and then mill one tooth. Milling characteristics: simple equipment; low tool cost; low productivity; low precision of machined gears.
The shape of the tooth profile of the gear is determined by the size of the base circle (related to the number of teeth of the gear).
Milling gears with forming method requires simple movement, no special machine tools, but with indexing head indexing, and low production efficiency. This method is generally used to produce low-precision gears in a single piece and small batch.
2. Exhibition method
When the gear is processed by the forming method, the involute of the GEAR and Rack surface is formed by the forming method, and the forming method has high production efficiency and processing precision. Most of the gear processing machines use the exhibition method.
1) Hobbing
The principle of hobbing machining is to simulate the process of meshing and rolling a pair of crossed helical gear pairs. By reducing the number of teeth of one of the gears to one or several, the helical inclination of the gear teeth is large and becomes a worm. Then the worm is slotted and shoveled back to form a gear hob. When the machine tool makes the hob and the workpiece rotate in a rotationally proportional relationship with a pair of helically toothed cylindrical gears, the hob can continuously cut out the teeth on the workpiece.
Hobbing features:
a. Good adaptability;
b. High productivity;
c. The surface roughness of the tooth profile after processing is greater than the surface roughness of the tooth profile of the gear shaping process;
d. Mainly used for machining spur gears, helical gears and worm gears.
2) Inserting teeth
The gear shaping machine is used to machine the internal and external meshing gears. It is especially suitable for machining internal gears and multiple gears, which cannot be processed by the gear hobbing machine. With the attachment attached, the gear shaping machine can also machine the rack, but the gear shaping machine cannot machine the worm gear.
3) shaving
The shaving is a process in which the shaving cutter drives the workpiece to rotate freely and simulates a pair of helical gears to perform double-sided backlash-free engagement. The shaving cutter is at an angle to the axis of the workpiece. Shaving is often used for the finishing of unquenched cylindrical gears with high production efficiency and is one of the most common processing methods for soft tooth surface finishing.
4) Caries
Caries is a gear finishing method for machining hardened tooth surfaces. The relative motion between the honing wheel and the workpiece is the same as that of shaving. The difference is that the honing wheel as a cutting tool is joined with diamond abrasive. A plastic gear made of a material such as epoxy resin as a binder or cast.
5) grinding teeth
The main features of the grinding process are: high machining precision, the machining accuracy can reach IT4~6 under normal conditions. Due to the forced meshing method, not only the ability to correct the error is strong, but also the gear with high surface hardness can be processed.
