Bearing material
Characteristics of bearing steel:
I. Contact fatigue strength
Bearings under the effect of cyclic loading, contact with the appearance of fatigue damage easily occurs, that is, the emergence of cracks and peeling, which is an important situation of bearing damage. Therefore, in order to improve the service life of the bearing, the bearing steel must have high contact fatigue strength.
Second, wear resistance
During the task of the bearing, not only rolling friction occurs between the ferrule, the rolling element and the cage, but also sliding friction occurs, so that the bearing parts are constantly worn. In order to increase the wear of the bearing parts, maintain the accuracy and stability of the bearing, and extend the service life, the bearing steel should have good wear resistance.
Third, hardness
Hardness is one of the important qualities of bearing quality, which has an indirect effect on contact fatigue strength, wear resistance, and elastic limit. The hardness of the bearing steel under the application conditions must reach HRC61 ~ 65 individually, the ability to make the bearing achieve higher contact fatigue strength and wear resistance.
Fourth, anti-rust performance
In order to prevent bearing parts and finished products from being corroded and rusted during processing, storage, and use, bearing steels are required to have good anti-rust properties.
Five, processing performance
During the consumption process of bearing parts, there are many cold and hot working processes. In order to satisfy the requirements of small amount, high efficiency and high quality, bearing steel should have good processability. For example, cold and hot forming properties, cutting performance, hardenability, etc.
In addition to the above basic requirements, bearing steel should also reach requirements such as appropriate chemical composition, average external organization, few non-metallic inclusions, external appearance defects conforming to specifications, and external decarburization layers not exceeding the regular concentration.
